Pinn Hostel, Tbilisi, Georgia
I initially had some reservation about Pinn Hostel because when I booked on-line they had no reviews. I think they had either just opened or just joined Booking.com when we were booking but based on the location and the looks we decided to go for it. So glad we did.
We had great communication with the staff before we even arrived. We had a very late (or early) check in and wanted to be sure there would be someone there. They also arranged airport pickup for us which was super helpful when getting in so late. The price was $16 USD for the airport transfer.
I initially was not super keen on the set up. I hadn't realized the kitchen was common use and for some reason was put out by that. I quickly got over my initial judginess when saw just how nicely maintained the kitchen is and the amount of cookware available, It was really a great space and even had a washing machine!
We loved the design of our room and found it quite comfy. The sofa and chair were a great addition and we even had room for both of us to do yoga. The bed was sort of uncomfy though I'm not sure why. Also, the window faces the street so would get a bit noisy and was bright most nights. The door to the room is off the main reception area so you can hear everyone coming and going at all times. But despite all these potential "issues", we really loved this place and we incredibly comfortable staying here.
We made breakfast each morning and even did laundry a few times during our stay. You can ask for the drying rack which along with the radiator made for quick drying of our clothes.
We loved the aesthetic of the place and were sad to leave. The staff is also super helpful and speak English and I think Russian. They were able to get us sorted with some questions we had and were always really kind when we came or left.
The location is also incredible and is within short walking distance to many attractions and great restaurants. We loved it here so much that we tried to book again for our return trip back to Tbilisi. Sad for us they only had their bunk room left, and while we seriously considered it, we thought the better of four nights spent in bunks.
Pinn Hostel made our initial stay in Tbilisi an amazing one. I would highly recommend to stay here if you can get in.
