There are very few circumstances where I’m comfortable without my passport. I get squeamish when I handed it over to the Chinese embassy in Thailand to get a visa to walk the Great Wall and again in Laos to get a visa for neighboring Vietnam. So it was with some trepidation that we had to get them renewed from Norway.
I had a bit of a break down on one of our walks in Iceland. It was early on in our full-time travel, but it’s effects have lingered with me for the past three years. This was a challenging hike for me for so many reasons but my reaction to it and how I’ve moved forward has been surprising. I developed a new sense of caution/fear in regards to treading in unknown territory and lost some interest in tough climbs. This truly was an unforgettable walk.
