In this 14 part series, we present voice recordings and tidbits taken during our tour in The Republic of Georgia that was organized by Living Roots. You'll get to see and hear what we saw each day and how we felt about it. We did not edit the voice recordings or photos so you can really get a sense of how we were feeling and what we experienced on this trip. We hope you enjoy these experiences.
Day 2: Summary
On our second day of our tour of Georgia we had a bit of a harrowing drive (ok, we were both terrified and Jill sort of lost her shit) to get to our cabin room for the overnight. We were rockin' out to some hard rock and gangster rap with Shota (perhaps his way of easing our tension over the conditions of the roads) and kind of nervous laughing as we drove on. Things started out with a bang with some fluffy pancakes and homemade jam followed by an overstimulating visit to a felt artisan. We then took a steep walk up to our cabin/inn and beyond to the glacier for lunch. We walked on snow! Oh and then Jill was attacked by a moth before bed. Hear all about it below.
Highlights include: Visiting a felt artisan, consuming food (wild teas and preserved candied walnuts, birch berries and sea buckthorn), terrifying drive while rockin' out to AC/DC, G'n'R, overnighting in the remote cabin "Fifth Season", walking toward the glacier for a lunch picnic in Juta.
Note: We'll have a separate story highlighting our visit to the felt artisan. And we finally remembered her name is Tamar.
